What makes a dog trainer, professional?

Is a dog trainer required to have certification? No.

Is insurance a requirement? No.

Am I certified? Yes! I am a certified dog trainer and canine behaviourist. I’m fully qualified, and certified with distinction.

But if that’s all I had, it really means nothing. With rigorous studying and determination, anyone can pass a qualification in dog training.

It’s everything together that really makes me a pro!

I started in 2004. I acquired dogs from the police.. Dogs who were not the right fit for very specific police work. I would re-train them for security work. Personal guard dogs, security dog handler jobs, and home security.

Years later, I shifted focus on to training domestic dogs to be good house pets (and/or home security).

I have vast experience and knowledge. I get fast, lasting results. I didn’t get certified until about 2020. I wanted the certification, just to see what sort of extra stuff I could learn. I’m always open to new methods and other ways of training. I didn’t learn much more, but I did learn a little more.

I already had proven experience, and as it’s not the law to be certified, so I didn’t have to.. I chose to. I’m glad I did. I realise some stuff they teach makes a lot of sense. Some stuff does not.
